  • 02/25/06-02/26/06- National Security Law Moot Court Competition. A member of the firm, in the fictitious capacity as a Justice on the Supreme Court of the United States, evaluated and judged the written briefs and oral arguments of competing law students who argued legal issues involving National Security Crimes. The primary issue for the competition involved the provision of material support to a foreign terrorist organization.
  • 03/18/06-03/19/06- Philip C. Jessup International Law National Moot Court Competition. A member of the firm, in the fictitious capacity as a Judge on the International Court of Justice (World Court), evaluated and judged the written memorials and oral arguments of competing law students who argued legal issues involving crimes against humanity, systematic rape of ethnic women during armed conflict, universal jurisdiction and trafficking of women-sexual slavery.
  • 03/17/07- International Law Moot Court Competition. A member of the firm, as a Judge on the International Court of Justice (World Court), evaluated and judged the written memorials and oral arguments of competing law students who argued legal issues involving the legality of a prosecution for an ambassador that alleged violations of an internet-censorship law. The jurisdictional questions concerned ambassadorial immunity and customary international law status of extraterritorial abduction. The substantive legal issues concerned international human rights law and the militarization of space.
  • 02/23/08-02/24/08- National Security Law Moot Court Competition. A member of the firm, in the fictitious capacity as a Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, evaluated and judged the written briefs and oral arguments of competing law students who argued complex legal issues involving national security law.
  • 03/15/08-03/16/08- International Law Moot Court Competition. A member of the firm, as a Judge on the International Court of Justice (World Court) evaluated and judged the written memorials and oral arguments of competing law students during the semi-final rounds.

  • 09/26/05-09/30/05- A member of the firm completed the Trial Advocacy Program involving the defense of individuals charged with international crimes before the International Criminal Court (ICC), located at The Hague, The Netherlands.

• Judge Advocate General (JAG), Bolling Air Force Base, Washington, D.C.
  • 05/15/08- A member of the firm participated in a round table discussion with military defense lawyers regarding civilian defense tactics when representing those charged with defense contractor fraud crimes.

• St. Mary's Law School, Center for Terrorism Law. San Antonio, Texas
  
  • 03/15/05-03/18/05- Investigating Terrorism: Legal and Policy Issues. A member of the firm lectured on international extradition, alternatives to extradition and the inter-relationship with "red notices" issued by Interpol. In attendance were approximately 100 FBI counter-terrorism and Joint terrorism task force agents from throughout the United States.
